Cooking With My Girls!

I've always enjoyed hanging with my girlfriends. They have been my greatest support system in my roughest times. This is a day I can share another thing that I love which is learning new recipes and enjoying the taste of it. If you too enjoy these things, join me with my girlfriends as we learn a new recipe from Lifestyle Artist, Nikita Richardson from Sizzling Single, Online Cooking Show as she gives us an in depth cooking class brought to us by Uplift Your Sister Organization. We will sit down and enjoy our self-prepared meal as we are serenaded by me (Schawayna Raie). I will be introducing one of my new songs at this event!

Purchase tickets at www.schawaynaraie.com, www.upliftyoursister.org, https://CookingWithMyGirls.eventbrite.com. Visit Nikita at www.SizzlingSingle.com to view her products.

We can't wait to see you there!

The State of the Church

I have been heavily affiliated with the church for all of my life with a short time being removed due to my decision to walk away from God's will for my life. I have seen many things and done many things. Although we as Christians are not perfect, we do hold a certain level of responsibility when it comes to accepting the calling of God.

I know I have wronged some people in my past, I have displayed an attitude at times that is not becoming of a person trying to seek Gods' heart. I have made some terrible decisions and some bad mistakes. The one thing that plays a role in all of those things is my desire to change and please God. I try not to make the same mistake twice. I try not to practice sin. I allow myself to have and experience conviction when I do wrong.

It's not easy looking in a mirror of a face you are not pleased with. It's not easy living multiple lies in front of people. It's not easy to disappoint yourself and others on a consistent basis. If you have no respect for yourself, you can not even attempt to have respect for God.

I challenge you today to think outside of your own needs and think of the needs of others. The church is supposed to be an image of which others attain to achieve not an image emulating others. We need to get out of the idea of getting rich; which in turns cloud our judgement. I'm not saying that you as a Christian can't be rich, however God could care less about you having fame, glory and monetary tangibles. If you attain them; WONDERFUL! Your existence in life should be more centered on being a blessing to others, as that will create blessings for you.

I choose not to use scripture in my blogs often because I feel like there is too many Christians quoting scripture but living totally opposite of what they speak. Having a knowledge of and doing different is worse than not knowing at all!

We have spiritual clicks and disagreements about things that has absolutely nothing to do with the spiritual things of God. God is so big that we can not even imagine the things He is capable of doing. I remember a scripture that says "even the weakest of God is greater than the strongest of us" (paraphrasing of course). God can do greater things on His bad days than we can do on our good ones.

We become what the world considers great (movie stars, performers, CEO's, doctor's, lawyers, etc.) and forget from where the elevation in life has derived. God doesn't mind us being great in life, He doesn't even mind us having wonderful things. He just wants us to 1. appreciate all that He is (savior, Lord), 2. what He has done for us, 3. give to others as He has given to us.

How Many Ways by Schawayna Raie

How many ways can we show God that we love Him? How many ways can we give to those in worst situations than ours? How many ways can we give Him all of ourselves? How many ways can we praise Him for all He has done? How can we continue to live in this state of defiance? How can we get back to our first love (God)?

Being Blind To Your Gifts

We are not created for our own purpose. A lot of times, we think that we have money because God wants us to have nice things, we have nice homes for us to live comfortably, we have cars so that we may be able to get where we need to go, we have hands so that we can feed, clothe and take care of ourselves, we have voices so that we may speak our minds.

We have the wrong idea about the things that God has given us. Everytime God blesses us, it is unto Him. So that He may be able to get some form of glory from it. Whether your blessing is to encourage someone to continue to go on and to let them know that if you can make it, so can they. Your blessed hands could be so that you can do something manually for someone else. Your voice could be as powerful as it is so that you can become a lawmaker to change discriminatory laws.

You sleeping or holding onto the gifts that God has birthed into you, leaves the world incomplete. It leaves the world without a piece to complete the puzzle. Sometimes we can be blind to the gifts that God has given us. It is your job to explore your talents and abilities to see where they fit in the world. To see if those things God has enabled you to do is for a purpose greater than you!

There is a young autisitc boy who was born blind. With his disibility, the world counted him out. Probably thought that he would be someone that will be a burden to someone else or a person that would constantly draw from someone elses resources. Even with the hand that was dealt to him, he found a way to use the innate gift God had given him to give back to the very people who thought he would need them.

Sometimes in life, we think that we are to gain things without giving some of those things back to others when that is the total misconception of having a gift from God. Search your gift, give your gift and your gift will continue to give back to you. Don't be blinded by your gift.

Here is a gift from the Blind Autistic Gift from God.

My Space Is Limited

Sometimes you have to be careful with whom you allow to share your space. I went on a vacation and thought I would have relaxation time. Unfortunately, the place was filled with things that weren't necessarily my cup of tea.

Being the person I am and having the calling that I have; causes me to be very selective of where I allow myself to go and the things I subject myself to. I have to be extra sensitive to the environments I allow myself to be caught in. Environments can sometimes change your mood and spirit.

Although, I allowed myself to have as much fun possible for my comfort level, I was seen as being prudent and stuck up. I really don't care what others think of me, however I do care what God thinks of me. Sometimes you can go against the majority in order to be at your own comfort level.

If someone does not respect you for that, then exclude them from your space. My space is limited to the things that are going to be uplifting, rewarding, and enhancing. Don't allow things that are not beneficial to you invade your space because it won't allow room for those things that can bring you fulfillment. Make your space limited!

Love ya bunches!
